Our Departments
Sanitation
As a department, we strive to ensure that cleanliness and order is maintained in RCCG City of Light. Our driving force is deep rooted in the age old proverb that says, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.
Our core values are to carry out our duties and actions, not just in our service to God but in our everyday lives so as to reflect a clean and holy lifestyle that glorifies God. (Ezekiel 36:25)
Protocol
The Protocol Department is an arm of the church saddled with the responsibility of providing a hospitable and conducive environment for visiting Guest Ministers (both Local and International) with the sole aim of making them feel at home outside their home.The Protocol department receives guests on behalf of the church. The team ensures that guest ministers are well catered for.
Prayer
Although every Christian has the obligation to pray, this group is specifically saddled with the obligation to intercede consistently on behalf of the church leadership and its members, to encourage and motivate members to develop an active prayer life.
The purpose of the prayer team is to actively encourage and promote prayer in the church. We are open and responsive to the working of the Holy Spirit.
We hold prayer sessions on Sundays while the services are on. We also have prayer vigils every Wednesday by 11pm and online prayers from time to time.
Serving with Love
Counselling
The counselling department is where the new converts are nurtured, taught and counselled in the word of God and groomed to be grounded in Christ and for service of the Master. The counselling department encourage converts to become workers in the vineyard of God. We also give Godly counsel on issues pertaining to life.
Children/Teens Church
Welcome to our Children/Teens Church function! Our program is designed to provide a fun and engaging environment for kids and teens to learn about faith and grow in their relationship with God. Join for exciting activities, meaningful lessons, and a supportive community.
Welfare
The Welfare Department is responsible for meeting the needs of members and non members of RCCG City of Light. We cater for the needy by giving them foodstuff and clothings. City of light is really big on CSR (Christian Social Responsibility). On the 3rd Sunday of every month, the Church, through the Welfare Department gives out raw food items and also cooked food and drinks (lunch packs) on Thanksgiving services which holds on the 1st Sunday of the month.
Music Ministry/Choir
The Choir Department comprises of a group of people who have been set apart to minister to God and His people through music. The choir consists of both instrumentalists and vocalists.
The department is responsible for leading the congregation in praise and worship songs into the presence of God. The choir creates an environment for the manifestation of the presence of God by worshipping God in spirit and truth. We also do this skillfully and in a way that will motivate God’s people to worship Him, irrespective of their nationality, race, colour or situation. We inspire people to imbibe the culture of praise/worship.
The choir is also available to lead worship during special events (revival, meetings, weddings, naming or burial ceremonies).

This department is involved in intensive visitation and follow-up of new comers/members. It also provides follow-up for members who have been absent from the church for a period of time.

Holy Police
Our main responsibility is to ensure maximum security of our members, visitors and their properties whilst on the Church premises. It is the duty of this department to make sure the parking lots and walk ways are free of any hazard or intruders
Publication
This department is the communication arm of the Church. The department also publishes the in-house bulletin and maintains the electronic gateway of the church.
Engineering
This department takes charge of all technical equipment of the church. It coordinates and supporta all instrumentalists/singers on the use, handling and maintenance of the church equipment.
They also have the responsibility of providing clean and audible sound quality for indoor and outdoor services of the Church, to ensure effective management of all sound equipment/ systems/ devices in conformity with Product Manufacturers` safety and operational guidelines.

Holy Police
Ushering
The ushering department is essentially a service department with the mandate to ensure everyone has a good worship experience by making sure everything is done decently and in order.
This department provides a helping hand to the congregation and the pastor by ensuring an orderly service, a clean worship environment and a joyous welcome into God’s house. Ushers are like public relations people representing the church to every one.
Ushers' roles and responsibilities include meeting and greeting people, maintaining order, taking note of attendance, receiving, counting and recording offerings and provision of required information to the congregation.
Sunday School
This department is solely responsible to teaching the Word during Sunday School Classes. We have a very vibrant group of men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving God’s people through the ministry of the Word. We are committed to creating in each heart an unquenchable desire for the Word of God. It reaches people of all ages for Christ. The classes caters to the young and the elderly.
The ultimate goal of teaching is "that they may learn". Deuteronomy 31:12.
Sunday School wins people to Christ and provides spiritual care to members so they will "carefully observe all the words of this law" Deuteronomy 28: 58.
Evangelism
The ministry of evangelism is one that has been committed to every single believer. However the evangelism department has the primary purpose to champion this mandate. The team meets once every week to engage the community with the message of salvation.
They are passionate about soul winning and strongly desire to see the gospel of Jesus Christ heard and received by all.
